Vehicle detection systems

Due to the increasingly congested traffic system on motorways and the associated congestion of bridges, vehicle detection systems are necessary.
The aim is to prevent further damage to ailing bridges due to the unauthorised overtaking of the bridge by heavy vehicles and the associated permanent closure of the bridge.

Every vehicle that drives into the system in the direction of the bridge is weighed and measured. This way, an unauthorized vehicle is immediately detected and can be diverted.

The technology of such weighing systems has developed into a digital and modular overall system. With this system, for example, ailing motorway bridges can be protected from being driven by over-heavy trucks over 40 tonnes, or to heavy axles of trucks over 11.5 tonnes. It is also possible to detect vehicles over 3.5 tons.
